About Me

My name is Anil. I am a woodworker based out of Bangalore, India. I make custom furniture to specific needs, vision and dimensions, using superior quality solid wood and superb finishes.

With a totally unrelated degree from the prestigious BITS Pilani under my cap, I spent two decades in the Information Technology industry, travelled widely and held several senior leadership roles in the corporate sector. When my association with my last IT company ended, I was at a Y intersection in my life – either to continue in the same path or pursue my passion in woodworking. I chose the latter, thinking it’s “now or never!”.

I call my current journey Life 2.0 – a new life and a new career in something I love doing. I go home physically exhausted, but mentally alert. I simply LOVE woodworking and making furniture. I wish I had chosen this path right after graduation – I would have enrolled as an apprentice with a master carpenter, ideally in Japan 🙂

I make furniture out of my fantastic studio in South Bangalore. It is equipped with all the necessary modern equipment required for making fine furniture and any wood product.

I’d love to host you in my studio if you would like to visit. I am reachable through here as well.

WORKSHOP SAFETY IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT

Working with hand tools and power tools can be dangerous if proper precautions are not taken

You will undergo a detailed safety orientation at the beginning of the workshop, and several reminders as required.

Safety glasses and ear muffs are available for use during the workshop. Nitrile gloves will be provided while applying finish. You should bring their own mask and wear them while using power tools that generate wood dust.

You must sign a safety declaration form before the start of the workshop – this is a mandatory prerequisite. Please bring a signed copy on the first day of the class.

CLOTHING

It is important to dress in safe wear while working in a workshop – Long pants/ jeans/ shorts and half-sleeve T-shirts/ shirts/ tops. Full sleeves, flowing fabrics and loose-fitting outfits are not allowed. Shoes are mandatory. Long hair must be tied in a ponytail or a bun.
